Why should I register?
When you register you gain complete access to My AvScholars Directories.
Specifically, you will be able search My AvScholars Directories,
save the results of your searches, and save your search criteria
for future searches. You can also select the option of receiving
an e-mail alert that notifies you when a new resource matching your
search criteria is available. If you do not register, you will not
be able to search My AvScholars Directories.
By providing AvScholars.com with some basic information about yourself,
you also make it easier for us to understand our visitors and do
a better job of creating features and services for our site. It
is important to know that we value your privacy. Our is online and can be viewed at any time.
Do I need to register or log in to search My AvScholars
Directories?
Yes, you can only search My AvScholars Directories by registering
and then logging-in.
Is there a charge for using My AvScholars?
No. AvScholars.com and My AvScholars are free services to students,
parents, and educators. There is absolutely no charge for visitors
to search My AvScholars Directories. AvScholars is committed to
helping students, parents, and educators.
How do I register?
Follow the instructions on the “Student/General Account”
registration form. Once you have registered, our system will send
you a welcome email with an access code. You must enter this access
code on your first visit, before logging-in. This welcome email
will also remind you of your user i.d., and password to log-in at
later times.
The registration form will not accept my user I.D. selection?
Each registered user must select a unique user I.D.. If another
user has already selected that user I.D., the registration form
will advise you to select another unique I.D.
The registration form will not accept my email address?
If you provide information that is not in the correct form of an
email address (i.e. name@domain.com) the system will not accept
the information and ask you to make corrections. An accurate, live
email address is required for registration activation.
Why must I provide an email address?
My AvScholars require an email address so that we have a way of
contacting you if we have questions regarding your account. Your
email address is viewed by AvScholars’ staff only and is used
for administrative purposes. Please see our for more information.
What happens after registering?
After completing the registration process, our system will send
you a welcome email with an access code you must enter on your first
visit before logging in. The welcome email includes a copy of your
registration information and log in information to remind you of
your user I.D. and password to log in at later times.
How long will you keep my information on file?
AvScholars will keep your information forever, as long as you update
it on a regular basis. If you don't update it regularly, we'll drop
it after a period of inactivity.

What if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, all you have to do is go to the "Student/General
Login" page, follow the link for "Forgot your password,"
and enter your user i.d. (make sure you are in the “Student/General
Account” section, not the other account category sections).
Your password will be retrieved instantly from our system and sent
to your email address in our database.
How do I update my registration information?
We realize that from time to time you may want to change or edit
your registration information, such as your e-mail address, your
password and more. This information can be updated at any time.
To update your registration information: |

Log into your My AvScholars Account
using your user i.d. and password, |

On your account homepage, click on “Update
Account” link in the Account Preferences box (the gold
box) located in the upper right-hand navigation margin, and |

Make the necessary changes and click on the
“Update Account” button. |

Is there a fee for making changes to my account registration?
No. You may make as many changes as you would like to your account.
Why can't I log-in to my account?
Please make sure you have created an account with My AvScholars.
Also, make sure you are in the ‘Student/General Account’
section, not the other account sections. If you still have a problem,
it may be due to an inability for AvScholars.com to read cookies
from your computer. Our site uses cookies to verify that you are
logged in, so you may need to check your cookie settings under “Tools/Internet
Options” in your web browser and make sure that you have them
(cookies) enabled.
How do I search My AvScholars’
Directories?
After logging in to your account, your homepage will display My
AvScholars Directories and their search options. Simply proceed
to the directory you would like to search and click on the search
option.
How do I apply for a scholarship, internship, or job found
through My AvScholars?
You will find information on how to apply within each specific scholarship,
internship, or job profile. Organizations vary on their preferred
contact method (i. e. some organizations prefer you mail your request
for an application, some organizations request you contact the organization
directly, etc.). It is a good idea to follow each organization’s
instructions on how to apply. Please do not contact AvScholars about
how to apply for an organization’s scholarship, internship,
or job.

How do I save my search results?
Click on the "add to my listings" button on the right
hand side of the resource description on the Directory Search Results
page.
Is my personal information kept confidential?
AvScholars considers your privacy to be of highest concern. Information
you provide when registering or updating your profile is kept on
secure computers and is only used for purposes of improving your
use of AvScholars.com. A complete explanation of our can be viewed online at all times.
