Each year, there are
several conventions, trade shows, and conferences sponsored
by professional organizations, and businesses in the industry
you are interested in pursuing as a career. If there is an event
in your city, it would be in your best interest to attend one
or more of these events to start networking and inquiring about
scholarship and internship opportunities.
Visit each booth and attend as many seminars as possible, if
interested. Be sure to get a copy of the event’s program
guide to contact some of the companies and organizations listed
at a later date. Some events will charge a fee to gain access
to the exhibitors' booth area and other scheduled events. Trade
magazines provide a calendar of events of the name and dates
for various events in their industry.
