  Step 3: Financial Aid Sources
There are various sources that can assist you with paying for your education. You need to create a clear plan, an outline, of the sources that are available to you. Increase your odds of actually winning a scholarship by starting locally and expanding nationally, since many scholarships come from local businesses, private foundations, and community organizations.

The fall season is the best time to start your search for scholarships, because many businesses and organizations send announcements and applications to high school teachers and guidance counselors at the beginning of the school year.

Note: As you prepare to start your search, use your time wisely to apply to as many scholarships that you are eligible to receive. It is important to read the eligibility requirements for each award, and if you do not meet the eligibility requirements, DO NOT request an application or apply for the award. Don’t waste your time or the scholarship provider’s time.

Provided below is a list of sources to consider that may offer financial aid to students. This list is not in any particular order, nor is it all-inclusive.
