The Kids/Youths Sector provides kids/youth interested
in an aviation/aerospace career with a communication
platform of resources and tools. This sector will also
help parents, teachers, and educators by allowing them
to assist in their children and students education by
directing them to appropriate resources for guidance
and support.

EAA
YOUNG EAGLES
This grass-roots flying organization
is well on its way to arranging orientation rides
for 1 million young people by Dec. 17, 2003.
AVIATION
EXPLORING
Part of Learning For Life, this career
orientation organization encourages the chartering
of young adult groups by Soaring Clubs and FBOs.
Young men and women can get outdoors service experience
and familiarity with aviation, while adding to
the ranks of young soaring pilots.
AvKids.com
AvKids is a program designed to educate elementary
school students about the benefits of business
aviation to the community and the career opportunities
available to them in the business aviation industry.
CIVIL
AIR PATROL (CAP)
This USAF auxiliary organization
caters to aerospace-minded youth ages 12 to 21.
The joint SSA-CAP glider program offers a structured
flight experience for CAP cadets, as well as liability
and workman's compensation protection for Civil
Air Patrol orientation pilots. During the summer,
Civil Air Patrol offers multiple Flight Academies
nationwide providing actual flight training.
Organization
of Black Airline Pilots (OBAP)
The
goals of OBAP are to motivate black youth to become
educationally prepared for life, to increase minority
participation in aviation through exposure, training,
mentoring, and scholarships; to encourage networking
among black pilots; to increase the number of
black pilots hired by airlines; and to assist
the black airline pilot with special needs and
concerns.
Soaring
Society of America (SSA)
This organization inform youth at large about
the sport of soaring, encourage them to join SSA,
develop the soaring skill of young SSAers with
training grants, camps & contests, and reward
the achievements of young SSAers with awards,
prizes & scholarships.
Aviation
Career Education "ACE" Camp Programs
These one-week summer programs are designed to
expose middle and high school students to a wide
range of aviation career exploration. Focus is
on aviation career clusters identified by FAA,
with emphasis on opportunities for women and minorities.
Students experience instruction in aviation history,
the physics of flight, field trips to aviation
sites and hands-on activities.
This program is co-sponsored by the FAA along
with many other organizations. The plan is to
have one program in each state and U.S. territory.
